Chiropractic Case Study

The following X-rays images are actual cases from our clinic. They clearly demonstrate the effectiveness of our Precision Spinal Correction (PSC) technique at correcting the alignment of the curves in the side of the neck. Results vary from patient to patient.
We are born with spines that are straight up and down from the front and three distinct curves from the side. Stresses such as poor posture, acute and cumulative trauma, and physical neglect can cause our spines to stray from their natural spinal alignments.

A spine out of alignment will create Vertebral Subluxation Degeneration of varying degrees. Where as many people have normal spines early in their lives, spinal misalignments can happen at any age. Many Vertebral Subluxations remain undetected in adults of all ages.

The only way to determine if Vertebral Subluxation patterns are present in a spine is to perform a thorough exam and X-rays. Only Doctors of Chiropractic are formally trained and licensed to detect and correct Vertebral Subluxations through specific spinal adjustments.

Chiropractic adjustments are gentle, safe and effective at removing Vertebral Subluxations. Often relief is experienced immediately following an adjustment. Spinal correction may take months to years depending on how long your spine has been out of alignment or the phase of Vertebral subluxation.

Once maximal spinal correction has been achieved, your Chiropractor may recommend maintenance Chiropractic care to help hold the alignment of your spine in an optimal position. This would include a reduced frequency of spinal adjustments and exercises.

It is never too late or too early to either have your spine checked by a Chiropractor for the presence of Vertebral Subluxation or have your spine adjusted. Since postural patterns can run in the family, it is recommend that each member of the family have their spines checked by a Chiropractor.

Pound for pound the most traumatic experience that can happen to us in our lives is the process of being born. It is at this time that many people suffer from neck and spinal trauma. Vertebral Subluxations can prevent an infant from developing properly neurologically. This can leave a child prone to childhood sicknesses and hindered neurological development.

Children take an average of over 5000 falls in the first five years of their lives. Each of these falls has the potential to create spinal misalignments in the child’s spine and create nerve interference.

Slips, falls, sports injuries, backpack repetitive trauma can lead to chronic back pain and poor posture in children. A child will have the best chance of optimal growth and development if their spines are checked for the presence of Vertebral Subluxation and adjusted by a Chiropractor if necessary.

Children are born with a curve in their neck which is very similar to that of an adult. Maintaining this cervical curve is essential in the proper functioning of the nervous system and prevention of osteoarthritis in the spine later on in life.

Current research shows that loss of the normal curve in the upper back area of a child or thoracic spine can cause adolescent scoliosis. There are specific Chiropractic adjustments and exercises which can help to prevent and correct this abnormal posture.

The X-ray films to the immediate right are those of a 6 year old boy whose back shifts significantly to the left. These films show improvement after the boy received Chiropractic care in our office. The best time to have a child’s spine checked for Vertebral Subluxation is immediately following birth and routinely throughout their lives.
